This year was the first Beecher’s Cheese for All tour. The tour traveled three cities and local chefs created delicious burgers and mac and cheese! The dishes used Beecher’s cheese and Mishima Reserve’s Wagyu beef. Attendees voted for their favorites in each category. My Seattle Foodie Podcast co-host Nelson Lau and I were invited to attend and try all the tasty food!
I’d never been to Block 41, an event space in Belltown. The multiple levels, various light sources, and details make this one of my favorite spots! I’m hoping to attend more events here in the future!
Daniel Laferriere of Burger Brawler – The Brawler Burger
Mishima Reserve dry-aged blend patty seared with red wine butter, extra aged Flagship and Dutch Hollow Dulcet, sour pickles on a buttery salt and pepper brioche bun
Dan Mallahan of Rider – The Tasty Ted
New Woman stuffed American wagyu burger, topped with a dungeness crab and orzo mac and cheese cake, smoked buttered onions, tomato jam, and herbed horseradish aioli on a rustic potato bun
Evan Poulis of Lunchbox Laboratory – PNW Smoker
Slider made with Caffe Umbria coffee and chili-rubbed Mishima Reserve American wagyu patty, topped with smoked Flagship, pickled onions, and Mama Lil’s smoker sauce, served on a brioche bun
Ethan Stowell of Ethan Stowell Restaurants – The Dulcet Burger
Dutch Hollow Dulcet, secret sauce, and bread and butter pickles. This burger was the winner and rightfully so. The flavors worked perfectly together and it came with fries! Yum!
Mac ‘N’ Cheese
Sam Jo of Anju Seattle – The Anju Mac
Macaroni, Flagship, and Just Jack Cheese with kim chi
Seamus Platt of The Shambles – Seamus’s Mac ‘N’ Cheese
Flagship and crispy pancetta ziti, bread crumbs, and aged pork bottarga
Sean Mayhew of Ascend Prime Steak and Sushi – Dungeness Crab Mac ‘N’ Cheese
Pickled dungeness crab, crab veloute, edamame, red bell peppers, parsley breadcrumbs, togarashi and Flagship. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to shoot this dish.
Scott Siff of Cortina – Scott’s Mac ‘N’ Cheese
Strozzapretti, Flagship Reserve, smoked pig ear, and calabrian chili breadcrumbs
Kalen Schramke of Adana – Tofu Mac ‘N’ Cheese
Featuring Japanese pickles and furikake
If you’re wondering how I ate all that food, just know that the struggle is real! I’d say that a ticket price is well worth it if I had to pay because I was stuffed when we were done. We also had Salt and Straw ice cream for dessert! The flavor was Beecher’s Flagship Cheesecake. Yum!
The day was also fun because I got to spend it with foodie friends! Here’s a few Instagrammers I saw that day: @stephforrer, @rileysinstagram, @emeraldcityeater, @bobaeggs, @tinyhangrytiff, @tdteats, @obaliciouspnw, @momoshares, @tor601, @monmon.eats, @lyfeofjess.
Many thanks to Beecher’s for a lively, tasty, and fun afternoon! I’m already looking forward to another event like this one!!!
