Melissa Miranda of Musang has stolen the hearts of many since her return to Seattle after training in Italy and New York. She has taken the food scene by storm with her pop-ups and focus on community, not competition. She calls Bar del Corson home, which would become the birthplace of Musang as a neighborhood pop-up. With less than an hour left for Musang’s Kickstarter, Melissa has exceeded her goal of $75,000 and at the time of this post, is at about $90,481.

You all inspire me. You all push me. This is for all of us. Thank you for not only believing in my dream, but for supporting my cause to bring Filipino food home to Beacon Hill down to the wire. This is a win for us all – we can’t stress this enough.

Melissa’s food is rooted in her earliest memories in the kitchen with her family and family friends. She began food prep at an early age with her father, whose is known to many as Musang. She credits her father for shaping and inspiring her to continue traditions and to push ahead with her passion as a chef.

Congratulations Melissa! I can’t wait to come to the restaurant!
